AI capabilities in Course Evaluations & Surveys are currently available in English and restricted to institutions in the United States.
Customers utilizing the Results Home feature have the opportunity to incorporate Qualitative Analysis (sometimes called Text Analytics) for text-based questions. This paid add on feature is intended to enable faculty to effectively utilize data collected for a specific Write-In question type. Customers must have the Results Home feature enabled to utilize the Qualitative Analysis feature.
Instructor Insights is only available to institutions that have the Course Evaluations & Surveys AI Add On feature.
NOTE: Once Qualitative Analysis is enabled, it will not appear in your account until the system refreshes overnight. After the refresh, Qualitative Analysis will be available for any project with a start date on or after January 2023.
- Questions - Select a Write In question from the list of survey questions in the dropdown box
- Summary - The Summary section serves as a synopsis of the comments received. This section will distill the essence of the feedback, highlighting the main themes expressed by the respondents. By providing a succinct summary, users will be able to quickly grasp the overall sentiment of the feedback without having to sift through each individual comment.
- Sentiment Analysis - A Sentiment Analysis graph will display the data in percentages, categorizing the responses into four distinct groups: Positive, Mixed, Neutral, and Negative. The visual representation of this data will allow users to easily interpret the overall sentiment of the comments at a glance.
Enable/Disable Qualitative Analysis by Role
Once Qualitative Analysis has been enabled, a new permission will appear under Account > Permissions called Qualitative Analysis Access (powered by AI). By default, the permission will be ON for CES Administrators and OFF for all other roles. Qualitative Analysis can be toggled on/off for all roles except Student.
