The Student Alert feature is designed
to facilitate one-way communication from students
to their instructor and/or administration, and offers
a process separate from the survey to allow students
the ability to request follow-up contact.
Student Alert Student View
When enabled for a project, students
will
see a Contact Me (or customized text)
button in the bottom right corner of
their
survey. When selected, the student would
be presented with an additional window
to
input their feedback, as well as include
contact information. This information
is
then submitted to the specific role selected
by the CES Administrator to receive this
alert feedback.
Student Alert Student Setup
Once enabled, you can customize the
Button Text that displays
to students on their survey as well as the
Question Text which displays
above the large text box.
Input instructional text under Instructions.
Select the roles you would like students
to be able to send the alert, whether
it
will be submitted to the CES Administrator,
Administrator or Instructor role.
Note: Administrator
and
instructor roles will only have access
to
the Student Alert Reporting feature if
it
is enabled within the Student Alert
tab in Results Settings
under the Account tab,
and/or
if the Student Alert widget
is added the Dashboard.
Choose which Fields you would like displayed
to the student to input their name and
contact
information. If none are selected, student
alerts would be anonymous. Additionally,
these fields can be set to mandatory
and
required in order for a student to post
an
alert.
Student Alert Reporting
Under the Results tab, click
on Student Alert Reporting.
Search for student feedback
by Project, Course, Hierarchy Level or User
information.
Select New Only, if you
only wish to view New feedback - submitted
since your last login and view of Student
Alerts.
Click Search.
View Student Alerts.
Choose to Export search
results to Excel by selecting
Export to Excel.
Student Alert Settings
Under the Account tab, click
on Results Settings under
Reporting.
Select the Student Alert
tab.
Select to allow Administrators and/or
Instructors
access to the Student Alert Reporting
feature, which will allow them access
to
view student feedback submitted through
the
Contact Me button on
the
student survey.
Clearing New Student Alerts
To clear the New indicator for alerts that have
already been handled, click the New Only checkbox
and click Search.
Student Alert Widget
Within Manage Dashboards
in the Account tab,
you
can choose to display the number of
Student Alert posts
by project
that have been sent to a user. Users
can
click on the Project
name
and go directly to Student Alert
posts for the project, and then review
posts.
