Creating the External Tool in Moodle, For Use In Assignments
- Login as the Moodle Administrator
- Navigate to the following page (In the Site Administration block):
► Site administration / ► Plugins / ► Activity modules / ► External Tool / ►Manage tools
- Click configure a tool manually
Configure the tool as follows:
- Tool Name - something identifying Outcomes Assessment Projects, that can be easily
selected when creating the assignment - Tool Base URL - https://lti.taskstream.com
- LTI Version - LTI1.0/1.1
- Consumer Key - to be copied and pasted from Outcomes Assessment Projects
- Shared Secret - to be copied and pasted from Outcomes Assessment Projects
- Default launch container – Embed
- Within the Privacy section enable the following settings:
- Share launcher’s name with tool - Always
- Share launcher’s email with tool - Always
- Accept grades from the tool – As specified in Deep Linking definition or Delegate
to teacher

Click Save Changes
After creating the external tool, you can click the link below to set up the assignment link.
