Hierarchy Import

SL&L Hierarchy Import

This article explains the purpose of the hierarchy import feature in Student Learning & Licensure (SL&L) and details the fields required for the import process. This process is typically performed by institutional administrators and is most commonly done only once.

Important: Once the hierarchy is created, individual nodes can NOT be moved. Nodes can be renamed, but this must be done through the UI, NOT the import spreadsheet.

Note: If the hierarchy should be in alphabetical order in the UI, the hierarchy import spreadsheet should be built in reverse alphabetical order. SL&L imports each line one at a time, and places each new tier at the top of the hierarchy.

The import supports .csv - UTF-8 file types. All files must have the correct file extension.

Hierarchy Import Fields

Below are the details for the fields required for the hierarchy import spreadsheet.

Explanation: This field is used for the creation of the Program/Unit and all sub-sets. The highest level of the program is listed first, followed by each lower level.
