Reported Issue
Staff or Faculty users used to be able to see all students (eg. from the Everyone filter), yet suddenly they cannot view any/all/most students OR can only view students they are currently instructing.
Note: It also does not matter how settings are configured in Profile View Configuration or Full/Limited View Profile Tabs on the user's assigned roles in Role Administration.
Resolution
Most likely, the reason that staff/faculty cannot see "Everyone" is that they are assigned a role associated with the Adjunct Faculty function.
By design, most roles are additive by nature, however the Adjunct Faculty role/function is a restricted role/function that applies special permissions and removes permissions that are otherwise assigned by the user's assigned roles.
- When the Adjunct Faculty role/function is assigned, some settings will automatically change on the user's Permissions tab in People Administration, causing a mismatch between the staff/faculty user's permissions and the permissions gathered from each user assigned role, as displayed in Role Administration.
