Review and Open a Project for Scoring

Once you’ve added at least one activity, artifact, and an evaluator (with an outcome assignment, if enabled), you can open your project and distribute the artifacts.

If the instructions in this article do not match what you see in your product, you might be using Watermark's Outcomes Assessment Projects. Please check the articles in this section for the correct guidance.

  1. To open your project, from the Project Overview page, select “Review & Open Project”
    • Based on your project settings and learning outcome assignments, the most balanced distribution of evaluations (rubrics to be scored) will be assigned to the evaluators.
    • Note: If the distribution does not look accurate, try adjusting your activity or project settings
      • Some common adjustments that will impact evaluation distribution:
        • Outcome Assignment: Ensure your outcome assignment for each evaluator is correct (from the Project Overview page, select “Assign Outcomes” to make adjustments)
        • Instructor Check: Ensure you have enough evaluators that are not the instructor of record for the selected course sections in each activity. Edit Activity to make adjustments
        • Random Sampling: you may need to adjust your random sampling percentage (Edit Project) to ensure you’ve sampled enough uploaded artifacts
        • Evaluation Count: This is the number of evaluators that will be assigned to score each rubric aligned with an artifact. To make adjustments to the number of evaluators assigned to score each rubric aligned with an artifact, Edit Project and increase or decrease the Evaluation Count
  2. After reviewing the evaluation distribution, select “Open Project”
    • Once you open the project, the evaluators will be assigned a queue of artifacts. If you have aligned multiple rubrics and learning outcomes to an Activity, the Artifact ID or student names may be listed multiple times in the evaluator’s artifact queue depending on the number of rubrics that require scoring for that artifact.
