Admin Setup Instructions
1. Log into a LiveText administrator account
2. Click Admin
3. Click LTI 1.3 on the right side of the page
4. Select Moodle from the LMS dropdown and enter the URL for your Moodle environment in the LMS URL field
5. Log into your Moodle administrator account
6. Go to Site Administration
7. Go to Plugins > Manage tools
8. Click configure a tool manually
9. Enter the following information to create the tool:
- Enter the Tool Name of your choice
- Enter the LTI Launch URL: https://www.livetext.com/LiveText/lti/v1p3/launch
- Enter a Description
- Select LTI 1.3 from the LTI Version dropdown
- Select the option Keyset URL from the Public key type dropdown
- Copy the Initiate Login URL from LiveText and paste it into the Initiate Login URL field in Moodle
- Copy the Redirection URL from LiveText and paste it into the Redirection URI(s) field in Moodle
- Copy the Public Keyset URL from LiveText and paste it into the Public keyset field in Moodle
- Select Show as preconfigured tool when adding an external tool from the Tool configuration usage dropdown
- Select New Window from the Default launch container dropdown
- Make sure the Support Deep Linking option is checked
- Expand the Services option:
- Select the option Use this service for grade sync and column management for the
dropdown IMS LTI Assignment and Grade Services. - Select the option Use this service to retrieve members' information as per privacy
settings for the dropdown IMS LTI Names and Role Provisioning. - Select the option Use this service for the dropdown Tool Settings.
- Select the option Use this service for grade sync and column management for the
- Expand the Privacy section
- Select the option Always corresponding to the following fields:
- Share the launcher's name with the tool
- Share the launcher's email with the tool
- Accept grades from the tool
- Select the option Always corresponding to the following fields:
10. After you click on the Save changes button, the tool will be displayed
How to get the Client ID, Deployment ID, and URLs
1. In your Moodle administrator account, go to Plugins > Manage tools
2. Click on the View configuration details icon displayed above the LTI tool you created
3. The Tool configuration details will be displayed. Copy the Client ID and paste it into the Client ID field in LiveText
4. Copy the Deployment ID and paste it into the Deployment ID field in LiveText
5. Copy the Public keyset URL and paste it into the Public keyset URL field in LiveText
6. Copy the Access token URL and paste it into the Access token URL field in LiveText
7. Copy the Authentication request URL and paste it into the Authentication request URL field in LiveText
8. Copy the Platform ID and paste it into the Issuer field in LiveText
9. Click the Save button in LiveText
