The Survey Sort Order feature allows you to change the default order that the surveys are presented to respondents when taking the survey.
NOTE
Changing the survey order only changes the order in which the surveys appear to the student/respondent when they are taking the survey. The Survey Sort Order does not change the order the surveys appear in reporting.Default Sort Order
When using multiple survey types in a project, the surveys are presented to students/respondents in the following order by default:
- Main Survey
- Targeted Survey added at the node level*
- Targeted Survey added at the course level*
- Custom Questions added by Administrators at the node level
- Custom Questions added by Administrators at the course level
- Custom Questions added by Instructors
* Targeted Surveys of the same type will be presented to the student in the order in which the Targeted Surveys were added to the project. However, Targeted Survey RESULTS will display based on the creation date of the Targeted Survey, with older Targeted Surveys showing before newer Targeted Surveys, regardless of the order in which the Targeted Surveys were added to the project.
NOTE
The above order can be changed at the account level or at the project level. Changing at the account level will apply the same default sort order to new and existing Course Evaluation projects. Changes made to the survey sort order at the project level will override the account-level survey sort order for that specific project.Change Survey Sort Order at the Account Level
To view or edit the survey sort order at the account level, navigate to Account Survey Sort Order.
Click on the triple bar for the survey type you wish to move and drag to the desired new location.
- Once the survey types have been moved to their desired order, click Save to save the new survey sort order.
- Click Reset to reset the survey sort order back to the default survey sort order (listed above). Then click Save to save the sort order.
CHANGE SURVEY ORDER AT THE PROJECT LEVEL
Changing the survey sort order at the project-level will set the survey sort order for that specific project. Changes made at the project-level will override the account default survey sort order for that specific project.
To change the survey sort order at the project-level:
- Edit the desired project
- Navigate to the Survey tab
- Scroll down to the Project Survey Sort Order section
- Click on the triple bar for the survey type you wish to move and drag to the desired location
- Once the survey types have been moved to their desired order, click Save to save the new survey sort order.
- Click Reset to reset the survey sort order back to the default survey sort order (listed above).
NOTE: If a change is made to the default survey sort order at the account-level AFTER you have already changed the survey sort order in a particular project, the account-level settings will override your project survey sort order changes.
