Course Evaluations & Surveys provides QR codes for public general survey projects to make it easy for participants to access and complete them. However, QR codes are not available for other project types because each user has a unique survey link, making it impossible to generate a single QR code that works for everyone.
How QR Codes Work for Public General Survey Projects
For public general survey projects, there is a single survey link that all respondents use. This allows us to generate a single QR code that directs users to the survey seamlessly. They can simply scan the QR code with a mobile device, and it will open the survey in a browser. More information on QR codes for a public general survey project can be found in our How to Create a General Survey Project article.
Benefits:
-
Easy Access – No need to manually enter a URL.
-
Increased Participation – Simplifies survey distribution.
-
Quick Sharing – Can be printed or shared digitally.
Why QR Codes Aren't Available for Other Project Types
For other project types (private general surveys and course evaluation surveys), each participant receives a unique survey link. Since there isn’t a single, universal link that applies to all users, generating a single QR code wouldn’t work for this type of survey. Each user would need to have their own individual QR code sent to them. And since the Login URL placeholder can already be used to send the individual links to the user, the QR code would not add any additional functionality.
