This guide explains how Faculty Accomplishment Administrators can edit, duplicate, and archive events within Career Pathways to keep faculty timelines updated. Edits apply cumulatively to new career path assignments. Events can be duplicated for customization or archived to prevent new use. Administrators can also remove non-recurring base events from faculty timelines, document reasons, and restore events as needed, enhancing timeline management and accuracy.
As a Faculty Accomplishment Administrator, you can modify existing events to meet evolving needs. This guide covers how to edit, duplicate, and archive events within Career Pathways, as well as the effects these changes have on current and future career pathways. For information on creating new events see, Creating Base Events for Career Pathways and Creating Result & Exception Events in Career Pathways.

Types of Modifications
Editing an Event
To ensure that your faculty career paths stay up-to-date, a version control system for Events has been implemented. This means that you can make edits to an Event, such as modifying deadlines or adding new requirements, and those changes will be automatically reflected in all associated career paths and faculty timelines.
It's important to note that updates to an Event are cumulative. When you make a change, any previous modifications will also be applied. This ensures that all connected career paths and faculty timelines remain accurate and up-to-date with the latest information.
Note: Changes to an event will apply to a path when assigned for the first time to faculty through Assigning a Career Path using Manage Faculty. Functionality to allow the change to impact faculty currently assigned to the career path is planned.
Duplicating an Event
Duplicate an event if its suitable for a faculty career path but requires modifications specific to a new path. This avoids altering the original event, ensuring the integrity of the event while creating a new, tailored version of it.
Archiving an Event
To maintain the integrity of existing career paths, Events cannot be deleted once assigned. However, you can archive a Base Event to prevent it from being used in new or added to existing career paths. Archived Base, Results, and Exceptions Events will continue to exist on career paths where they've already been assigned.
These modifications will help you manage and update events within Career pathways, keeping all career paths and faculty timelines accurate and aligned with institutional goals.
Manage Faculty Timelines with Event Removal
Administrators can remove non-recurring base events from faculty timelines to provide a more accurate and personalized view of career requirements for faculty members.
Key Improvements
Remove Base Events: Administrators can remove non-recurring events directly from a faculty member's timeline when a specific requirement no longer applies.
Document Reasons: Administrators can provide a custom explanation (up to 500 characters) detailing exactly why an event was removed to ensure complete transparency. This documentation is internal and only visible to administrators; it is not available to faculty.
View and Restore History: Access a complete history of removed events through the View Details & History option. This option is only available to administrators. If departmental decisions change, administrators can instantly restore an event back to the active timeline.
Enhanced Timeline Navigation: To make managing records faster, the faculty timeline defaults to the current academic year upon opening.
How to Access
Navigate to Career Pathways > Manage Faculty.
Select a faculty member to view their timeline.
Select a non-recurring base event to open the details drawer.
Select Remove Event to enter a reason and update the timeline.
Select View Details & History from the main timeline view to view or restore past removals.
