Overview
Additional data sharing between Faculty Success and data repositories can be easily configured from the Activities section. By enabling these features, you can share data from Faculty Success to other systems through recurring weekly exports. This ensures that any updates to scholarly activity are reflected in other data repositories.
How it Works
The option to configure Data Share Settings will be visible to all users who can track activities, found on the top navigation bar. When you view the summary of all activity screens, the Data Share Settings button appears at the top right of the page. Clicking on this button will open a pane where you can adjust the settings to share data with other systems. By default, data sharing is turned off for all users.
When sharing is enabled for one of the repositories below, your publications will immediately be exported. After this initial export, your publications entered in Faculty Success will be synced weekly (Sunday).
Note: For a publication to sync successfully with a repository, the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) must be included in your Faculty Success records and all the authors within a record must have an assigned role. |
ORCiD Settings
ORCID will appear as an option in Data Share Settings for Institutions who have connected Faculty Success to ORCID. Users who have authenticated with ORCID in Faculty Success can choose to automatically export their publication data. This export will happen on a weekly basis, keeping ORCID updated with any changes made to a Faculty Success profile. If desired, users can still import data to populate their Faculty Success profile before enabling the export. You can import publications from ORCID by clicking the Import button on the Intellectual Contributions/Publications summary page.
Users with the Manage Data role can enable the export for faculty members who have already authenticated with ORCID through Faculty Success.
