HTML/Gibberish in email responses

Resolving HTML Code in Student Success & Engagement Messages

Occasionally you may receive a message from Student Success & Engagement that contains a response, but also contains HTML code/other content displayed at the end of the message.

The reason for this is usually that the sender of the email (or rarely, their email client) removed the "To respond, simply reply to this email adding your message above this line." line included in the message that they received.

Since this line is used to delineate the received message from the sent message, when it is removed, the received message (and all of its HTML content) is included in the "sent" message without separation between the received email and the response.

The 'Aviso Retention' page showing an email from Brent Advisor to Olivia Student with the subject 'Hello Olivia.' A highlighted note stating 'To respond, simply reply to this email adding your message above this line.' The email requests to meet and discuss Olivia’s academic plan and schedule for the next few semesters, with a Calendly link for scheduling the appointment and Brent Advisor’s contact information.

To prevent this from happening, please ensure that all users are following the instructions in the received email to respond above the line displayed above the received message.
