Overview

New Catalog Home Page UI Option is now available for the Catalog Cover page.

Catalog Home Page UI Option

Deciding what to put on each catalog’s homepage can be daunting. Institutions usually opt for
an image of the catalog cover, or another graphic representing the school as a placeholder.

We are now introducing a better option. This is a dynamic rendering that lists degree types, a Browse Program button, and a select list of six catalog pages to be highlighted in the “Explore the Catalog” section. You don’t have to do any work; these pages are selected for you (avoiding any structural pages, like the Site Map).

You can opt in or opt out of this new rendering on a catalog-by-catalog basis. On each Catalog item, there is a new checkbox called “Use Enhanced Landing Page” in the Rendering Options section.

By checking the checkbox displayed above, the new rendering will replace the existing one. The title and text from the Catalog item will no longer display, and the new, enhanced display will appear on the catalog page. By unchecking the checkbox, any content placed within this item's Content field will display instead.

As a final step, after the checkbox is checked and the catalog cover saved, publish the cover item including subitems.
