When students and advisors visit the catalog website, it is helpful for them if they the degree information can be downloaded or printed to track the students' progress.
There can now be an icon on the degree pages in the catalog website that is specific for downloading or printing the Degree Map. The printable degree map will have some details at the top of the page for the student or advisor to populate, and potentially extra columns in the degree tables for entering more details specific to the student or blank for written notes relevant to each course required/selected.
Example:
The Degree Map, once implemented, automatically displays on all degrees as a "page" icon next to the "Print this page" icon. When selected, it pulls from the information (course tables, narrative content) that is already included in the degree and formats it into a table grid. This allows room for commentary and notes when advising students, or for students to print and add notes as they need.
There is nothing the catalog editor/administrator needs to do to create these maps. They pull from the degree page already created within the catalog and applies the format automatically to be easily printed for anyone viewing the public facing catalog.
