"Open in a New Tab" in Chrome when using the Canvas User Integration
Updated
Watermark Support
Users accessing the Canvas integration may occasionally see a prompt to open the application in a new tab instead of the content loading directly within the page. While this is often related to third-party cookie settings, Chrome’s Safe Browsing "Enhanced protection" can also impede the iframe functionality.
NOTE: This behavior does not block the user from accessing CES. This behavior only adds an extra click to "Open in a new tab" as shown below:
Adjust Chrome Browser Settings
As mentioned above, the user can still access CES after clicking the "Open in a new tab" button. However, if the user wishes to change their browser settings, they may follow the steps below to adjust security protocols.
Open Chrome and click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner.
Select Settings.
Click Privacy and security in the left-hand sidebar.
Select Security.
Under the Safe Browsing section, check the current selection.
If Enhanced protection is selected, change it to Standard protection. {Note: Enhanced protection often blocks the iframe used for the Canvas integration to prevent potential cross-site tracking.}
Refresh the Canvas page to confirm the integration loads correctly.
