Note: Please avoid using Tk20 in multiple tabs and have it open only in one tab/browser at a time. Also, refrain from using the back button, as this may cause your session to time out and your work may not be saved. To have the best experience and ensure that your data is safely stored, please use only one tab when accessing Tk20.
Getting Started
After a Field Experience binder is sent out to a student, respective site staff will receive an email on the date their assessment tools are released. This email will contain a link that can be used to access the assessment tool within Tk20. To access the binder directly, click the link.
Note: If you have not received this email, check your spam folder. If you still do not see an email, please contact your partner institution’s Tk20 Unit Administrator.

Click on the link provided in the email. This will open a split screen in a Tk20 server.
- On the left, you will be able to view the binder description, due dates, site/placement information, any attached standards, and the student’s submission.
- On the right, you will be able to view the binder’s assessment tool(s), grant extensions, and provide additional feedback.

Student Submissions
The various tabs of the binder and student-submitted artifacts will be displayed on the left side of the screen.
- Navigate to the tab that contains the artifact you would like to view. Click on the blue artifact name to open the attachment.

- Once you open the artifact, If the student has submitted a file upload, you will see it listed at the bottom of the page. You may click on Download to save it to your computer, or you can click on View and Annotate to open the document in your internet browser.

- To annotate the document, click View and Annotate. Then, select the text you wish to annotate. Click on theicon and add your notes.
- Click on Save to add your annotated comment. Hover over the document text to see your comment.
- Click on the pencil icon within the comment box in order to edit your comment or the trash can icon to delete it.

Assessing Student Submissions
- Click on the Field Experience Forms available in the right side of the screen to complete assessments of your student.

- Open the assessment tool by clicking the name of the form, in blue. Complete the assessment.
- After you have completed the form, choose one of the following actions:
- Save: save work and return at a later time
- Save & Close: finalizes the data entered into the assessment form and closes the form
- NOTE: When any assessment is saved OR submitted, the binder will lock for students so that they cannot make revisions. In order to open a binder back up for student editing, please see the section below titled “Granting an Extension”
- Repeat this process until you have finished all assessments.
- When you are finished with the last form, click Submit, in the upper right-hand corner.
Note:
- You will not be allowed to submit your binder until you have completed all assessment tools.
- After you click Submit, the evaluations become locked!
Granting an Extension
- Click on the Due Date(s) tab on the right half of the split screen.
Due Dates Tab
- Click the gray Edit Due Date
- Select a new due date and time.
- Click Update.

Note: If you have already submitted your assessments, but need to make an alteration or grant an extension to the student, you will need to revoke your assessment before you can edit the due date. To do this, simply click on the “revoke” button in the upper right-hand corner of the right-hand pane of your screen (seen below). Now, you may follow the aforementioned steps for editing the due date.

Note: If you have already submitted your assessments, but need to make an alteration or grant an extension to the student, you will need to revoke your assessment before you can edit the due date.
