Once you have created your Workflow Template and Role Groups, it's time to create a Schedule. This piece connects the Template and Role Groups, and allows you to set your Workflow Process in motion.
Schedules allow you to set up a new "run" of any of your templates, and they define the deadlines, Role Groups and email notification options for each Step for that run.
For instance, you’ll set up one schedule each year that you need your annual review process to run. Or, you may set up multiple schedules if various units have the same process but different due dates. For example, your colleges of Education and Business may have the same process for annual reviews but require their faculty to submit materials by a different date.
Multiple schedules may be necessary if different groups of participants will need to be reviewed by different role groups at the same step. For example, all faculty may have a Department Chair review as the second step in the process. But you may have two groups of Department Chairs — one for full-time faculty and one for adjuncts. You would then create two schedules using the same template — one for full-time faculty and one for adjuncts — and pick the correct "Department Chairs" Role Group for each schedule.
