Reassigning Artifact Evaluations

Project administrators can reassign pending evaluations from a specific evaluator to other eligible evaluators in the project.

NOTE: Pending evaluations refers to evaluations that have either the Not Started or the In Progress status.

Project admins can choose to do this in two ways:

  • Bulk auto reassign: The project admin can choose to randomly reassign the pending artifact evaluations from an evaluator.

  • Manual reassignment: The project admin can choose to reassign specific pending artifact evaluations from an evaluator to evaluators of their choice.

To reassign pending artifact evaluations assigned to a specific evaluator:

  1. Access the View Evaluator Profile option for the evaluator from the Evaluator Overview area.

The Overview page showing Project Status with a progress circle at 0 percent and buttons Future Scoring and Close Project. The Activities section showing Evaluating Writing. The Evaluator Overview section showing evaluators, evaluation types, and progress bars, with the View Evaluator Profile button highlighted.
The evaluator detail page showing Evaluator Overview with Maximum Evaluations and Assigned Outcomes. The Artifacts Queue section showing search and filter fields and showing one artifact row with activity title Evaluating Writing and status Not Started.

The evaluator profile displays a list of artifact evaluations assigned to the evaluator and also an overview of the settings and outcomes aligned with the evaluator.

  2. Click the Reassign Artifacts menu to access the options to randomly bulk reassign the pending evaluations or manually reassign individual pending evaluations to specific evaluators.

The evaluator detail page showing Evaluator Overview with Maximum Evaluations and Assigned Outcomes. The Artifacts Queue section showing one artifact row with outcome Written Communication and activity title Evaluating Writing. The Reassign Artifacts menu showing options Random Reassignment and Reassign to Specific Evaluator, with the Random Reassignment option highlighted.
  3. The Random Reassignment option can be used to have the system randomly auto-reassign the pending evaluations from an evaluator to other eligible evaluators.

    1. If there are not enough eligible evaluators to reassign the pending evaluations, a message indicating this would be displayed requesting the project administrator to confirm if they would like to proceed.

The confirmation popup showing a message about randomly reassigning artifacts and showing the Cancel and Acknowledge and Continue buttons.
    2. If the project admin chooses to proceed the system will randomly reassign as many evaluations as possible to eligible evaluators and the rest of the evaluations will remain assigned to the original evaluator.

  4. The Reassign to Specific Evaluator option can be used if project administrators would like to manually assign pending evaluations from an evaluator to specific evaluators.

    • This is a two step process; the evaluations to be reassigned can be selected in the first step.

The Reassign Artifacts page showing step 1 Select Artifacts with one artifact row listing student name, rubric title, outcome, section, activity title, and status. The Cancel and Next buttons showing at the bottom.
      • NOTE: Only a maximum of 10 evaluations can be selected at a time for manual reassignment.

      • The evaluations selected in the first step are listed for reassignment in the second step; each evaluations provides a list of eligible evaluators that the project administrator can choose from to reassign the evaluation.

The Reassign Artifacts page showing step 2 Assign to Evaluator with one artifact row listing artifact number, rubric title, outcome, section, activity title, and an Evaluator dropdown. The Back and Reassign buttons showing at the bottom.

Criteria used to identify the eligible evaluators for reassigning pending artifact evaluations:

  • Assigned Evaluations: If an evaluator is already assigned another evaluation from the assessment project for the same artifact + activity + rubric combination as the evaluation being reassigned, that evaluator will not be eligible for the artifact evaluation reassignment.

  • Evaluation Type: If an evaluator has an Evaluation Type selection of Discrepancy Only that evaluator will not be eligible to be re-assigned non-discrepancy evaluations. Similarly, if a discrepancy evaluation is being reassigned and there is a list of eligible Discrepancy Only evaluators, any evaluators from the assessment project with an Evaluation Type selection of All Evaluations will not be eligible for the discrepancy evaluation reassignment.

  • Instructor check: If the Instructor Check option is enabled for the assessment project and an evaluator is an instructor for the course section to which the student whose artifact evaluation is being reassigned belongs, that evaluator will not be eligible for the artifact evaluation reassignment.

  • Outcome Assignment: If the Outcome Assignments option is enabled for the assessment project and an evaluator is not associated with the same outcome with which the evaluation being reassigned is associated, that evaluator will not be eligible for the artifact reassignment.
