We are enhancing the External Reviewer experience in Reviews, Promotion, and Tenure with our latest release. In place of links with 15-day expirations, a reusable link may be sent to external reviewers which enables them to generate a code for submission access.

External Reviewers - Usability Updates
We've enhanced how external reviewers access candidate submissions to improve their experience and streamline support.
- No More Expiring Links for External Reviewers: Previously, links sent to external reviewers expired after fifteen days. Now, these links will no longer expire, making it easier for reviewers to access their forms at any time through code verification.
- New Secure Code Verification: External reviewers will be prompted to generate a secure, one-time code using the provided link. This code will be sent to the email address captured in the submission and will expire in 5 minutes. When the code expires, they can simply use the original link to request a new one, allowing them to work on a submission multiple times.
- Consistent Experience for On-Campus Participants: The process for on-campus participants is also being updated to align with this code generation system. On-campus participants can now manually generate an access code for an external reviewer if they need assistance, similar to how they previously generated links.
This change will immediately apply to schedules in progress and newly launched schedules. Links previously provided to external reviewers will generate a code and no longer expire. The on-campus external reviewer coordinator will also have the option to generate a code on behalf of an external reviewer for any schedules in progress.
