Sharing a Curriculum Map

Curriculum Maps can be shared with external stakeholders via a web link or exporting to PDF. This allows leads to share curriculum maps with Deans, Provosts, or other faculty to facilitate discussions on the extent to which the courses that make up a degree program support the intended outcomes. Curriculum Maps can be shared two ways: Sharing as a Web Link and Exporting as a PDF.

Sharing as a Web Link

Links can be shared to be viewed by users outside of Planning & Self-Study. They can be posted on websites for reference or used in presentations during assessment retreats. Leads and Administrators can generate the link by clicking on the share button. The share button can be found on the Curriculum Map card as well as within the Curriculum Map itself.

Next to it, the Curriculum Map box showing courses mapped, outcomes, and last modified date, with highlighted sharing and editing action buttons.

Clicking the Share button as seen above reveals two options: Share Online and Export to PDF.

Users can also access the sharing options by clicking the Edit (pencil) button on the Curriculum Map Card, which will bring up the Curriculum Map. The Share button will be located in the upper right corner.

When you clicking the Share Online button, a modal window appears with an enable public share link toggle button.

When an external user opens the curriculum map link, the view is read-only.

If any changes are made to the Curriculum map after the link has been shared with stakeholders, the Curriculum map is updated in real time.

When the toggle button is deactivated, the Curriculum map view access is revoked from the users who had access to it through the shared link. If they try to access the link, they will get an unauthorized view message.

Exporting a Curriculum Map as a PDF

Once your curriculum map has been exported to PDF, it becomes accessible offline. This feature is available from these two areas, on the Curriculum page within a program after clicking the Share icon and within the Curriculum Map after clicking the Share button

Sharing Curriculum Map Snapshots

Snapshots accurately reflect the curriculum map exactly as it existed at the time of saving. Even if courses, outcomes, or measures are later added, revised, or deleted in the live system, the snapshot remains unchanged. This ensures data remains consistent for reporting and evidence.

Specific snapshots can be shared with colleagues or external reviewers using two methods:

  • Export to PDF: A professional, read-only PDF of any snapshot is available for download. This file includes all program and version details.
  • Share Online: A secure, view-only link to any snapshot can be generated for instant digital access.
The option to share online or export to PDF is displayed on this image.
The View Snapshots area where a user can decide which snapshot to share.

Note: Shared online links, exported PDFs, and saved snapshots will reflect the  preferred layout selected(standard or vertical).

Curriculum Map Layout

To change the layout, click into the Curriculum Map and toggle between the two views on the curriculum map: the traditional layout and a new vertical view. This allows for the display of courses as rows and outcomes as columns, or vice versa. All data remains aligned and readable regardless of the chosen orientation.
