Course Evaluations & Surveys Release Notes for November 5, 2026

On-Screen Reporting and Export Updates

Overview

This release introduces updates to on-screen reporting and export options in Course Evaluations & Surveys (CES). Administrators and instructors can now export course evaluation project results in multiple formats directly from the on-screen view, view benchmark data and summary highlights on screen, and see project and account reporting configurations reflected consistently across browser reports and PDF downloads.

Course Evaluations & Surveys Updates

Enhancements

Project Results Export Dropdown

  • Change summary: The "Export Results As" dropdown menu is now available in on-screen results for course evaluation projects, matching the existing functionality in general surveys. Users can select this menu to choose their preferred export file format directly within the screen.
  • Value: Standardizes the export workflow across all project types, allowing users to download results in their required format without navigating away or using different tools.

On-Screen Reporting Consistency with Account and Project Settings

  • Change summary: On-screen reports now dynamically apply project-level "Report Setup" options (including "At a Glance," "Benchmark Data," and "Mean of Means") as well as account-level "Results Settings" (such as field visibility and response option thresholds). Content updates dynamically on screen to match these rules, aligning directly with PDF report output.
  • Value: Aligns browser-based results with institutional reporting policies and PDF exports, ensuring data consistency across formats and eliminating discrepancies between views.

Benchmark Data Display in On-Screen Results

  • Change summary: When administrators enable "Benchmark Data" in the project "Report Setup" tab, benchmark metrics display alongside eligible questions (single select, matrix, multiple select, and numeric question types) in on-screen views. When the setting is disabled, benchmark numbers and labels remain hidden. Setting changes take effect upon reloading the report across all Project Results and Instructor Results tabs.
  • Value: Allows users to compare evaluation scores against institutional benchmarks directly in the browser interface without generating or downloading a PDF file.

At a Glance Highlights Section

  • Change summary: When the "At a Glance" option is enabled in the project "Report Setup" tab, summary metric highlights appear at the top of on-screen results, with or without corresponding benchmark figures. When disabled, this section is omitted entirely. If an on-screen report contains a single highlight card ("At a Glance" or "Mean of Means"), the card defaults to an expanded view. If multiple cards exist, they display collapsed by default so users can expand them as needed.
  • Value: Provides key performance indicators at the top of the browser report matching the PDF layout, enabling quick review of top takeaways without manual scrolling through individual question items.
