A survey can be previewed to replicate the respondent's view, allowing you to review and ensure it functions as expected. Additionally, you can export the survey as a PDF for external review outside of Course Evaluations & Surveys.
How to Preview a Survey
- Go to Surveys & Projects from the Navigation Bar.
- Select Surveys.
- Once you're on the Surveys page, you can preview a survey in three different methods, as outlined below:
- Method 1:
1. Click on the title of the survey you wish to preview from the Surveys table.
2. A pop-up window will appear with a preview of the survey. To close the preview, click "Close Preview." - Method 2:
1. Click on the three vertical dots in the Options column.
2. From the drop-down menu, select Preview.
3. A pop-up window will appear with a preview of the survey. To close the preview, click "Close Preview." - Method 3:
1. Click on the three vertical dots in the Options column.
2. From the drop-down menu, select Edit.
3. Click on Preview at the top of the Survey Properties.
4. A pop-up window will appear with a preview of the survey. To close the preview, click "Close Preview."

How to Export a Survey
- Go to Surveys & Projects from the Navigation Bar.
- Select Surveys.
- Once you're on the Surveys page, you can export a survey in two different methods, as outlined below:
- Method 1:
1. Click on the three vertical dots in the Options column.
2. From the drop-down menu, select Export.
3. A PDF version of the survey will then be automatically saved to your device. - Method 2:
1. Click on the three vertical dots in the Options column.
2. From the drop-down menu, select Edit.
3. Click on Export to PDF at the top of the Survey Properties.
4. From the drop-down menu, you'll be given an option between Detailed and Basic export:
- Detailed: This option displays the questions you created with detail on the additional properties for a question. A detailed view can allow the user to quickly audit the survey and check for questions that have reversed weightings, are enabled for team taught, or have branched logic.
- Basic: This option is a basic export of the survey.
5. A PDF version of the survey will then be automatically saved to your device.
