LMS Troubleshooting (Faculty)

LMS Troubleshooting – Faculty Logged Out of Tk20

Learning Management System (LMS) Type: Any

Desired Action: Access and evaluate student submissions

Scenario: A faculty member logs into their LMS, clicks on the established Tk20 web link, and lands on their student submission page. Once the faculty clicks on a student’s name, they are logged out of Tk20 and brought to the Tk20 login page.

Solution: The faculty member is being logged out of Tk20 due to their internet browser. The internet browser settings must allow third party cookies. The user must adjust their internet browser settings; instructions to “allow third party cookies”  can be found for all internet browsers by Google searching “how to allow third party cookies in Firefox/Safari/Chrome etc. “.

Student Troubleshooting – Student View says “Coursework Not Aligned”

Learning Management System (LMS) Type: Any

Desired Action: Student trying to access an assignment

Scenario: If the student clicks the LMS link and Tk20 coursework has not been aligned, the system will display a screen “Your Coursework has not been set up by your instructor yet. Please check again later or contact your instructor.”

Solution:  Once the faculty selects the appropriate Tk20 coursework, the student’s coursework submissions page will appear.

Tk20 can auto select the correct coursework in a course section if one of the following are true:

  • Scenario 1: the course section ID from the LMS matches the course section ID in Tk20 and only one coursework.
  • Scenario 2: the course section ID from the LMS matches the course section ID in Tk20 and the link title matches the Tk20 coursework name.

If the above are not true, when the instructor clicks on the LMS link, he/she will be presented with a list of coursework in their Tk20 courses. The instructor will manually select the Tk20 coursework; this alignment is made one time. Students are never presented with the option to align an LMS link with Tk20 coursework.
