Overview
This article details the data mapping requirements for integrating P&SS with D2L Brightspace, emphasizing the need to align course, enrollment, and student IDs for accurate data synchronization. It also outlines the specific activities and assessment data that P&SS pulls from D2L for comprehensive reporting and analysis.
Required Data Mapping for Integration
To ensure a smooth and accurate integration, specific data mappings must be completed before the integration is activated. These mappings ensure consistency in course and user data across both platforms during implementation.
Mapping Requirements:
- Course Offering to Course Section Mapping:
The Course Offering Code in D2L must be mapped to the Section ID of the corresponding course section in P&SS System Administration.
- Student Enrollment Mapping:
- Students enrolled in a Course Offering in D2L must also be enrolled in the matching Course Section in P&SS System Administration.
- Student Identifier Mapping:
Each student must have the same Org Defined ID in D2L and the Person ID in P&SS System Administration to ensure accurate user identification and data synchronization.
*Please ensure these mappings are reviewed and validated during the implementation phase to avoid sync issues and ensure data accuracy.*
Types of Activities and Assessments Pulled from D2L
During the integration process, specific types of learning activities and associated assessment data will be pulled from D2L. This ensures that relevant instructional and evaluation content is available for analysis and reporting within P&SS.
Activities Pulled:
- Assignments
- Quizzes
- Discussion Topics
Rubrics Pulled:
- Analytic Rubrics
-
Holistic Rubrics
- Note: If any of these rubrics are set as "No Score," the associated assessment data will still be pulled into P&SS.
Assessment Data:
- Point-based assessments will also be included in the data pulled into P&SS.
