Overview
This article outlines the steps to activate the D2L integration under the Configuration section of Planning and Self-Study.
1. Establish the Connection
To connect P&SS with D2L Brightspace:
- Log in to P&SS as an Administrator.
- Navigate to Admin > Integrations.
The "D2L Brightspace LMS" card will now be visible.
- Click on Connect to D2L Brightspace LMS located on the card.
- In the connection window, enter the following information:
Client ID: Copy this directly from D2L Brightspace.
Client Secret: Copy this directly from the D2L Brightspace instance.
D2L URL: Enter the base URL for the D2L Brightspace instance.
- Click Authorize D2L Brightspace.
- A new window will open, redirecting to the D2L login page. Log in using the Integration User credentials for D2L.
- Click Approve to grant P&SS access.
- The integration will now be activated. Click Close on the "Establish Connection" screen.
2. Confirm Connection & Data Sync
Upon successful connection:
- A data sync will begin automatically.
The "D2L Brightspace LMS" card will now display Status: Connected.
3. Data Sync Process
The data sync process retrieves course information based on course offering start and end dates. The sync behavior differs depending on the type of sync being performed:

Weekly Sync:

Retrieves courses with start or end dates within:
- 1 year in the past
- Up to 6 months in the future
- The current date is used as the reference point.

Initial Sync / Manual Sync:

- 2 years in the past
- Up to 1 year in the future
- The current date is used as the reference point.
- Example: If a manual sync is triggered today, it will include courses with start or end dates from 2 years ago to 1 year from today.
