An outcome can be deleted by clicking on the kebab menu next to the outcome. The option to Edit, Revise, Archive and Delete will appear. Click Delete to permanently remove the outcome.
If the Delete option is not available, it may be due to the following reasons:
- Outcome is included in a Plan
- Outcome has associated Measures
- Outcome has associated Results
- Outcome has been aligned in the Outcome Map and/or Curriculum Map
- Outcome has Strategic Goals aligned
To delete the outcome, you'll need to remove these connections first.
Removing an Outcome from a Plan
To remove an outcome from a plan, select the plan and click Add/Edit Outcomes. If the option to de-select is grayed out, it means the outcome has results associated. Once results are removed from the measure, the outcome can be de-selected and removed from the plan.
To remove results, click Measure Details, Change Collection Method, and choose Yes, Delete Results.
Outcome Map
Confirm whether the outcome is aligned within the Outcome Map. If so, remove any connections before deleting the outcome.
De-select the checkbox to remove alignment.
Measures
If the outcome has measures associated, the measure(s) would need to be deleted.
Under Program Information, click Manage Measures for the specific outcome.
Click Edit Measure.
Click Delete Measure at the bottom of the page. A confirmation dialog will appear to verify the measure deletion. To proceed click Delete, then Done.
Curriculum Map
If there are alignments in the curriculum map, they will need to be removed in order to proceed with deleting an outcome.
Click into the corresponding curriculum map to view alignments. Uncheck the alignment and remove the connection by toggling to No.
Strategic Plan
If any outcomes have been mapped to strategic goals, the outcome can't be deleted until this connection is removed.
After all outcome associations are removed, the option to delete would appear on the list of options as shown in the screenshot:
