Planning & Self-Study directly identifies missing account permissions, account associations, and developer key scopes for Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) integrations. This feature allows administrators to view, troubleshoot, and export synchronization issues between Planning & Self-Study and Canvas.
Viewing Error Indicators
When errors occur during the most recent synchronization, an administrator can view these errors by navigating to Admin > Integrations in the system navigation.
When synchronization errors occur, a "View Error Report" button displays on the Canvas card on the Integrations page. Selecting this button opens the Error Details panel.
Reviewing Error Details
The Error Details panel outlines connection details and individual error cards containing actionable instructions for updating Canvas developer key scopes or user permissions.
The panel includes the following information:
- Connection Details: Summarizes the connection status and parameters associated with the Canvas integration.
Error Cards: Categorizes each identified issue on an individual card providing specific guidance on required Canvas account permissions, account associations, or developer key scopes.
Downloading CSV Error Reports
Administrators can export a comprehensive Comma-Separated Values (CSV) report of the latest synchronization attempt directly from the interface to streamline troubleshooting with Canvas administrators.
The CSV report includes the following data fields:
- Affected courses and account identifiers
- Failed operations and integration requests
- Returned Canvas error responses
- Required developer key scopes and permissions
- Recommended resolution locations
