Accessing your Career Path
To view your career path, follow these steps:

- Click on "My Career" from the navigation bar to access your career path.
If "My Career" does not appear in your navigation bar, it may be due to one of the following reasons:- You are an Administrator: In this case, click on "Career Pathways" from the navigation bar and then select "My Career" from the dropdown menu.
- No Career Path has been assigned: If a career path has not yet been assigned to you, "My Career" will not appear in your navigation bar. Milestones in your Career Path
Your career path is broken down by academic year, starting from your start date/hire date at your institution. As you view your career path, you will see a visual of past, present and future milestones that shape your career path. Milestones in career pathways are made up of Base Events, as well as Result & Exception events that influence the overall progression.
- Base Events: Base events represent important, recurring milestones such as annual reviews, promotions, eligibility for tenure. These events help structure your career progression and are typically scheduled on a regular basis (e.g. annually).
- Result & Exception Events:
- Result events capture the outcomes of reviews or milestones, ensuring you have accurate documentation of the outcomes of your career progression.
- Exception events account for circumstances that may impact your career timeline, such as family leave or sabbaticals.
By understanding both types of events, you can better anticipate and plan for key moments in your academic career.
