  • The CSV template includes the following columns:

    • Set Title: This is a required column. Under this column, you can either include the title of a new standard/outcome set to be created or the title of an existing standard/outcome set under which you want to add new standards/outcomes. Please note that the Set Title is unique across your institution and cannot be duplicated.

    • Set Abbreviation: This is a required column. Under this column, you can either include the abbreviation of a new standard/outcome set to be created or the abbreviation of an existing standard/outcome set under which you want to add new standards/outcomes. Please note that the Set Abbreviation is unique across your institution and cannot be duplicated.

    • Type: This is a required column. Under this column, you can either use the value Outcome or use the value Standard. If you are adding new standards or outcomes to an existing set, please ensure that you include the correct Type value (i.e. the same Type value as exists for the set being included in the import file)

    • Standard Identifier: This is a required column. Under this column, you can include the identifier of the new standard/outcome you want to create. Please note that the Standard Identifier is unique across your institution and cannot be duplicated.

    • Standard Title: This is a required column. Under this column, you can include the title of the new standard/outcome you want to create.

    • Standard Description: This is an optional column. Under this column, you can include the description of the new standard/outcome you want to create.

  • In the downloaded CSV, include the details of the standards/outcomes to be imported and save the CSV (please also review the points listed under the Points to remember when importing standards or outcomes: heading of this article before saving the CSV).

  • Click the Upload File button in the Add Set via CSV panel and select the saved CSV.

  • Once the file is successfully selected and added, click the Upload button.

  • Once the import is completed, the standard or outcome sets and standards or outcomes included in the imported file will be displayed under the Standards & Outcomes tab.

NOTE: Once the import is completed, the logs for the import can be viewed using the View Import Logs link in the top right corner.

If any rows from the imported file failed to import, a banner would be displayed with a Review Imports link (to access the logs) indicating that there were failures.

NOTE: The banner will remain visible for four days following the most recent standards or outcomes import that had errors. The banner can be closed using the close icon.

Clicking either the View Import Logs link or the Review Imports link opens a panel displaying a list of all standards/outcomes imports done from the specific organization node’s or program’s Standards & Outcomes tab.

  • Imports that have any failures are listed in red with the one of the following statuses in the panel.

    • Failed: If all data rows in the uploaded CSV failed to import.

    • Imported with Failures: If some data rows in the uploaded CSV failed to import, but other data rows imported successfully.

  • Imports that were entirely successful are listed in black with Imported status in the panel.

  • For a specific import that has failures, the detailed error report for each data row that failed to import with the reason for the failure can be viewed using the View Import Failure Details option.

Points to remember when importing standards or outcomes:

  • If you are trying to add standards or outcomes to an existing set, please ensure that the you perform the import from the same organizational or program node under which the set being included in the import file exists.

  • The import can only be used:

    • To create new standard or outcome sets with new standards or outcomes

    • To create new standards or outcomes under existing standard or outcome sets

  • The import cannot be used to update already created standard or outcome sets or already created standards or outcomes.

Archiving Standards/Outcomes

If a standard/outcome set is no longer meant to be used, it can be archived. A standard/outcome set can be archived using the Archive option.

Screenshot showing the Archive option for a Standard/Outcome set

Once archived, a standard/outcome set and its standards/outcomes would no longer be available to be added/aligned with rubrics, templates, or assessment projects. However, already made alignments of the standards/outcomes in rubrics, templates, or assessment projects will remain unaffected. Also, archived standard/outcome sets will continue to be available in reports and extracts.
