Overview
Faculty Success provides two ways to export your data: My Profile as CV and Custom Report (Vita). Both options generate a professional document of your activities, but they differ in purpose and flexibility.
- My Profile as CV is the fastest way to download your CV exactly as it appears in your Profile.
- Custom Report (Vita) allows you to create a report based on the Vita template, customize it to your needs, and save it to run again in the future.
The sections below provide more information about each option.
My Profile as CV
The My Profile as CV export generates a Microsoft Word document directly from your Profile view. This export follows the specific order of sections, renamed activity headers, and display styles you've set within your profile. Your standard Formatted Self-Service Reports Profile Details appear at the top of the report.

Generating My Profile as CV
- Go to My Profile.
- Select Export
- Choose My Profile as CV from the export options.
- Your CV will download as a Word document to your device.
Custom Report (Vita)
The Custom Report option generates a Vita report that you can customize and save for future use. This option is helpful if you need different versions of your CV for various purposes.
Generating a Custom Report (Vita)
- Go to My Profile.
- Select Export
- Choose Custom Report from the export options.
- The Create a New Report window opens with the Vita template already applied. If you have customized your My Profile section order, those settings will be used as the starting point. If you have not customized your My Profile, the default Vita template will be applied.
- Configure your report as needed.
- Save the report you've created to run it again later from the Reports menu item. For more details on managing reports from the Reports menu item, see Running and Customizing Reports.

You can generate a CV quickly from your My Profile using the My Profile as CV option or create a Custom Report (Vita) that can be saved for future use. These export options provide flexibility in how you prepare and export your data from Faculty Success.
