Why are a student’s course completion factors the same for each of their enrollments? Why are they the same as the student persistence factors?

While we do have factors specific to the type of course a student is taking, particularly if it is a repeated course, it is often the case that the strongest indicators of risk and success are characteristics of the student overall. This means that the strongest factors related to each course are very similar or the same for each course a student is enrolled in. When that is the case, it is also not uncommon for the persistence factors to be the same/similar because factors for course completion and persistence are fairly correlated.
