Report Sources Administration

Overview

Report Sources Administration allows SS&E Administrators to grant permission to users by role in order to create custom reports using the SS&E Report Builder.

NOTE: Role permissions do NOT apply to reporting, therefore it is very important to be cautious when assigning permitted roles to report sources.

  • If a user is granted permission to a Report Source, then that user will be able to see all information the report source filed content may return.

For example:

If a user is granted access to the Notes report source, then they will be able to see all Note Types regardless of their role permissions on Note Types.

The Report Source permission used when running reports overrides all other permissions assigned in SS&E Role Administration.

How to grant access to Report Sources

To grant access to a Report Source, navigate to SS&E Administration -> Reporting -> Report Sources.

A navigation menu showing the Reporting section expanded, with the Report Sources option highlighted.

After clicking on Report Sources, select a report source.

When clicking on a pre-built report source, the option to add permitted roles will be listed within each report source.

An Achievements settings page showing a Permitted Roles field populated with selected roles labeled Administrator, Advisor, Faculty, and Manager, along with Save and Cancel buttons.

Upon ensuring the appropriate roles are added, click Save.
