Watermark Student - Helpful Information

The Watermark Student mobile app syncs with the SS&E web app, updating data up to four times daily. Administrators can monitor user engagement, view and export login data, and utilize features like promotional pop-ups and message filtering. The "Aviso Student Users" page is available for institutions with Watermark Student licenses. Training resources are provided.

Mobile App Update Frequency

The Watermark Student mobile app stays in sync with the Student Success & Engagement (SS&E) web app to ensure data accuracy. Information updates via the SIS Import process several times daily.

Note: The "Aviso Student Users" page is only available to institutions that have purchased Watermark Student. This list tracks users who have logged in but does not track if a student later deletes the app from their device.

Data Sync Schedule

The mobile app updates up to four times a day following the SIS Import process. These updates occur at:

  1. 4:30 AM

  2. 10:30 AM

  3. 4:30 PM

  4. 10:30 PM

To check the status of these updates, go to Batch Processing in Advanced Administration. For more information, click Error Handling in SS&E Administration.

Features and Enhancements

Promotional Pop-Up

Students may see a promotional pop-up designed to encourage mobile app usage. This tool allows students to:

  • Send an SMS message to themselves with a direct link to the app.

  • Click on app store badges to go directly to the mobile app store.

Message Filtering

Users can manage their communications more efficiently within the app.

  • Use the filter option to view only "unread" messages.

  • Turn the filter off to see all messages, including those already read

Mobile App Administration

Administrators can monitor student engagement with the mobile platform through the administration menu.

View Mobile App Users

  1. Go to the "People Administration" menu.

  2. Select the "Aviso Student Users" page.

  3. Search for specific students or filter by their first login date.

  4. Select "Export" to save the results to Excel

A pop-up message titled 'Download Aviso Student,' prompting the user to download the Aviso Student app. The message includes an input field to send a link to the phone or options to download the app from Google play store or App Store, with 'Send' and 'Maybe Later' options.

Watermark Student Users

The "Aviso Student Users" page is found on the People Administration menu and it allows SS&E  Administrators to see which users have logged in to the Watermark Student mobile app.

On this page, Admin users are able to search for student as well as filter students by when they first logged in to the mobile app and export the results to Excel.

  • The Watermark Student Mobile App User list does not necessarily show all users that have the app downloaded, since it does not track students that deleted the app from their mobile device after they first logged in.

The Aviso Student Users Administrative page will only be available if an institution has purchased Watermark Student.
