The steps for accessing the Beta Environment are outlined in this article. It is worth noting that each account in Beta is set to Local Authentication, which allows you to create a local username and password to access the Beta Environment. If you are not using local authentication for the Production Environment (www), and since the Beta environment refreshes weekly on Saturday, you may need to perform a Password Reset to generate new login credentials every week. The process for resetting your password is also outlined in the further reading below.
If you will need weekly access to the Beta environment, it is recommended that the authentication in your user account in the Production environment be set to Local Authentication so that the credentials you will use to login to the Beta environment do not need to be reset weekly and you can access the Beta environment using your credentials from the Production environment.
Getting Started
- The first step is to create the login URL for your Beta environment using the following URL structure: https://beta.digitalmeasures.com/login/[org]/faculty/authentication/showLogin.do
The [org] within the URL structure will be replaced with the the domain for your institution. The domain for your institution can be retrieved when logged into the production environment and viewing the URL. An example of a Beta login URL is: https://beta.digitalmeasures.com/login/watermarkfacultysuccess/faculty/authentication/showLogin.do
- When you access the login URL you created, you may notice that the login prompt is different than your typical login. This is because it is the login page for Local Authentication. To begin to access your account in the Beta environment, you must first reset your password. This can be started by clicking the "Need Help?" hyperlink located below the credential fields.
- A "Get Login Help" box will then appear, from which you will select the "Reset Your Password" hyperlink to continue the process.
- In the next prompt, you must enter your Faculty Success Username (not Email Address Prefix) to receive the password reset email. If you are unsure of your account username, this can be requested by contacting your Faculty Success administrator. Once you enter your Username, select the "Reset Password" button.
- A password reset email will then be automatically sent from support@watermarkinsights.com to the email address on file for your account. To avoid caching issues, right-click on the "Request Password" button in the email and select to Open in a Private/Incognito Browser Window.
- From the new window, enter your Faculty Success username and select the Reset Password button. The site will return you to the main login screen. You may safely close this tab.
- After a few moments, you will receive a second email from support@watermarkinsights.com. To avoid caching issues, right-click on the "Reset Password" button in the email and select Open in a Private/Incognito Browser Window.
- When the new window appears, the fields below will allow you to set your new password. In the Email field you will enter your Faculty Success Username and on the remaining fields you will enter your new password then select the "Change Password" button to finish this process.
After you've selected the Change Password button, you will be logged into your Beta Faculty Success account. Once you are logged into the Beta environment, you will see "beta" in the URL. Please remember to store your password information securely in accordance with your institutional policies, and if your account in the Production environment is not set to Local Authentication, your login credentials will need to be reset weekly.
