Common Integration Issues
- User is sent to the SL&L login page (sll.watermarkinsights.com) after clicking link in their LMS:
- This will happen if the user's email address does not match between SL&L and the LMS
- Grade is not sent to LMS gradebook:
- In order for SL&L to send a grade to the LMS gradebook:
- Grade Return must be enabled for the SL&L activity
- There must be a Scoring component in the SL&L activity template AND it must be designated as the Primary score
- Students must submit the activity via the link in the LMS
- NOTE: Grade return is not supported in Observational activities and will not work when Force Submit is used in the activity
- In order for SL&L to send a grade to the LMS gradebook:
- Submit button is grayed out for students
- This will occur if the student did not access the activity via the link in the LMS
- NOTE: Turning off Grade Return for the SL&L activity will allow students to submit the activity without having to access it via the link in the LMS
- Browser error or blank screen displayed when opening SL&L link in an iframe (embedded window)
- For security reasons, your browser may be preventing the link from opening in an iframe, so we recommend setting links to open in a new tab or window instead
- Instructor is unable to select their course section when creating links in the LMS
- This will happen if the instructor has not been added to the course section in SL&L
Error Messages
If you or one of your users receives an error message while trying to access Student Learning & Licensure (SLL) through an LMS, refer to the messages below to troubleshoot the issue.
"This Assignment is No Longer Available for Submission"
This message most commonly occurs when an assignment's due date in your LMS has passed.
* If you are a student and the due date has passed but you still need access to an assignment, reach out to your institution's SLL coordinator to see if the due date can be extended. * If the due date has not passed and a user is experiencing this, other possibilities exist. If an instructor sees this when clicking into the activity, make sure the user's account is set up as a faculty account and not a student account within the LMS.
"This Assignment Does Not Exist in Watermark Student Learning & Licensure. Please contact your faculty."
This error is displayed if the user clicking the LMS assignment does not have access to the SLL activity linked to the LMS assignment.
This could occur in the following cases:
- The user is not enrolled in the SLL course section where the linked SLL activity exists.
- The user is not part of the recipient list for the linked SLL activity.
"Please Check with your LTI Configuration and Try Again"
This error most likely indicates an incorrect LTI configuration. Please reach out to support so we can connect you with our integrations team to review your setup.
"SLL is unable to post grades to the LMS. Please try again in a few minutes. If the issue persists, please reach out to your LMS administrator."
This message is displayed when there is an issue with posting grades to the LMS (for example, the LMS does not accept the grade posted by SLL and returns an error). Wait a few minutes and try again. If you experience this message for over a day, reach out to support for assistance.
