Go beyond grades with the new Student Learning & Licensure GoReact integration. This powerful integration enables point-in-time feedback students can use in the classroom and as they progress through their careers. Bringing GoReact’s feedback tools together with your existing SL&L processes will not only enrich the educational experience for students and educators but also optimize your institutional and programmatic assessment practices.
In this guide, you will find step-by-step instructions, best practices, and troubleshooting tips to ensure a smooth implementation and optimal performance. We’re here to support you every step of the way as you explore the capabilities of Student Learning & Licensure, now with GoReact!
Getting Started
Terms utilized throughout this guide include the following:
- GoReact Template - an SL&L Activity Template that includes the GoReact Component
- GoReact Component - activity component added to a template; how students and assessors access the GoReact Assignment
- GoReact Activity - the activity that you create within Student Learning & Licensure that utilizes an Activity Template that includes the GoReact Component
- GoReact Assignment - Assignment within GoReact (accessed through the GoReact component in a GoReact activity) that allows the students, assessors, and admins to access GoReact specific features
To start using the GoReact integration within SL&L activities, please ensure that the integration setup steps have been completed. Please contact the Watermark Support team to submit a request for setup.
Create a GoReact Activity Template
From the Academics & Offices page, navigate to your organization and select Templates. From the Templates tab, select “Create Template”
A new template category called "GoReact Activity" has been introduced.
NOTE: The GoReact integration is currently only available for the Internship Workflow and Standard Workflow
Configure the GoReact Component
Once you select Internship or Standard workflow and CREATE, you are navigated to the template builder, which includes the GoReact component. This component serves as a placeholder. Once a GoReact Activity has been published within a course section, GoReact will load in the location of the placeholder.
Within a GoReact template, the GoReact component and a text component are available by default; these components cannot be removed or relocated.
Additional components and pages can be added to the activity, however, the first page and GoReact component cannot be deleted.
To make your GoReact Template available for use in course sections, select SAVE. GoReact Templates are listed on the Templates tab. GoReact Templates function the same as other activity templates, except that they cannot be used with the Activity Scheduler at this time.
The option to utilize GoReact Templates with the Activity Scheduler is being explored as a future enhancement.
GoReact Activity Setup
There are two options for setting up activities in SL&L:
- Directly within the course section, OR
- From the Templates tab, distributing activities to multiple sections at once
Creating an Activity within a course section
- Navigate to the course section and select “Create Activity”
- From the Create Activity page, select a template that has been created with the GoReact component (noted with “GoReact Template”)
- After selecting PUBLISH, the activity will be available to students for submissions based on the Visible on / Open for Submission dates selected for the activity, without the need for any further additional set up steps.
- However, after selecting PUBLISH, if you’d like to make changes to the GoReact Assignment settings, select the Open GoReact option.
Opening GoReact will open the GoReact Assignment in a new browser tab. From the GoReact assignment, select Edit.
To learn more about the GoReact Settings for individual activities, visit the GoReact Help Desk page for Assignment Settings.
The option to utilize GoReact Assignment Master Templates with the SL&L Integration is being explored as a potential future enhancement.
Student View of an SL&L GoReact Activity
When a student selects an activity that was created with a GoReact template, GoReact will load directly within SL&L. The student can then utilize all of the GoReact Assignment options, such as uploading, recording, or linking a video for their assignment.
When the student has completed the activity in SL&L, they will need to select SUBMIT so that their reviewer (instructor/mentor/supervisor) has access to their activity in SL&L.

Assessor View of an SL&L GoReact Activity
Assessors can utilize the powerful video feedback features while providing critical assessment data with rubrics directly within the student’s SL&L activity submission. For more information on GoReact’s assessor features, please visit GoReact’s Getting Started Guide for Reviewers.
