Decentralized administration of Course Evaluations & Surveys

We recently acquired the Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys product and are running into a challenge with our pilot. We want to move away from having a centralized department that runs all of the course surveys, and so we were told by Watermark to assign the Project Admin role to the people within the departments that will set up the surveys. The problem is that those individuals have full access to everything related to those surveys, including responses. This creates a potential privacy breach for student. Watermark told us to assign the Project Admin role, and then once the survey is published remove the role. However this then creates a fair amount of manual work and opens up risks. We're wondering if other schools with decentralized models have run into the same challenge and if so, how did you handle it.

TIA,

Raoul

  • I am having the same concerns. Did you ever resolve this issue? We would like administrative staff to administer projects (select the courses that need evaluations). However, we do not want them to have access to be able to change any other settings. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
