Update: January 31st, 2022 LiveText C1 was successfully migrated to Amazon Web Services last night as expected. Thank you again for your patience and assistance in preparing for this important change. Although we do not expect any negative effects of this migration - only positive improvements in availability and performance! - we’d appreciate your assistance in watching for anything unexpected in the coming days. |
Announced: November 18, 2021
As part of our commitment to ensuring the best performance of our software, we are moving LiveText C1 to Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s largest cloud computing platform. This move enables:
- Availability: faster response times
- Performance: more servers to accommodate peak usage
- Scalability: sustainable system performance as we grow
But we need you to take some steps to prepare. We hope this article provides the information you need to take these next steps. Please read on for the details, and share this with your campus IT colleagues as needed.
The Timeline
We will be migrating LiveText C1 to AWS on Sunday, January 30th, 2022 at 10pm ET. We anticipate the required maintenance window to last no more than six hours. The system will be offline during that time.
In addition to sending an email reminder ahead of this window, we will post a banner in the system a week in advance to inform your users of the upcoming downtime. You will also receive confirmation over email once the migration is complete.
Action Needed Before January 30th
This move involves a change in IP addresses. Please review this FAQ and connect with your campus IT team as soon as possible to verify whether they’ve configured any firewall or integration settings that are impacted by us changing our product IP addresses for LiveText C1. If you encounter any, please reach out to our Support Team and we’ll work with you one-on-one to ensure you have the information you need to make adjustments before January 30th, 2022.
