Troubleshooting Reports

When investigating why a record is not appearing within a report, the best place to always start is the report's description document. The description document can be accessed by clicking on the link directly under the report name once it has been selected. The criteria used to determine which records display within a particular report will be outlined within this document.

As an example, for the AACSB Table 2-1, here’s what this report logic from the description document looks like for Peer-reviewed journals:

Screen: Intellectual Contributions
Items: All records
Criteria:
1.Contribution Type contains the text “Journal Article” and Current Status is one of: “Published”, “Accepted”, “Accepted/In Press”, “Accepted and Published”, “Published/Accepted”, “Previously Accepted, now Published”, “In Press”, “Completed”, “Forthcoming” and AACSB Classification has a value and Is this publicly available? is not equal to “No” and Was this peer-reviewed/refereed? contains one of the substrings: “Yes”, “Blind”, “Editor”, “Peer” and Difference (in days) from Date Accepted (End) to Report Start Date is less than or equal to 0.0 and First value of [Date Accepted (Start)] and [Date Published (Start)] to First value of [Date Accepted (End)] and [Date Published (End)] overlaps with Report Start Date to Report End Date (Does not include ongoing or undated records)

So, to digest the criteria,

  1. Status needs to equal “Published”, “Accepted”, “Accepted/In Press”, “Accepted and Published”, “Published/Accepted”, “Previously Accepted, now Published”, “In Press”, “Completed”, or “Forthcoming”
  2. AACSB Classification can NOT be blank
  3. Is this publicly available? is NOT equal to “No”
  4. Was this peer-reviewed/refereed? IS equal to “Yes”
  5. Date Accepted or Date Published falls within the report data parameters.

That said, if a record isn’t marked as peer-reviewed in the database, it won’t be counted in this column. For this particular report, each contribution type has a similar criteria that can be viewed in the report's template.

Report templates can be found directly below the report dropdown list in the Run Reports utility and displays the logic used to determine if a record will appear in a report.
