Overview
This article provides a guide for mentors, supervisors, and instructors on how to manage the Student Log within Student Learning & Licensure. It covers viewing intern entries, approving or rejecting logs, requesting revisions, and deleting entries to ensure accurate tracking of internship tasks and events.
Student Log Feature Overview
The Student Log allows an intern to record any tasks or events relevant to their internship. Mentors, supervisors, and instructors can view this time log and approve or reject the intern’s entries.
Note: The Student Log feature is optional when administrators create internships. If there is no Student Log button or tab, the Student Log feature has not been enabled for the internship.
To Manage Student Time Log Entries
- From the In Progress tab, click on the title of an internship/course.
- Click the Student Logs tab to view any interns who have recorded log entries.
- To view an intern’s time log entries, click on the intern’s name.
- Log entries in the top section are pending review by an approver. Log entries in the lower section are already approved and do not require review.
- Approve: Approves the time log entry and adds the hours to the student's total number of completed hours. The reviewer will have the option to leave a comment for the student when approving. Multiple entries can be approved at once by clicking the checkbox to the left of the entries and then clicking the Approve Selected Entries button.
- Reject: Rejects the time log entry and does not add hours to the student’s total hours. Approvers can leave a comment for the student when selecting this option.
- Request Revisions: Using the three dot menu to the right of the entry, approvers can request revisions to a time log entry. Approvers are required to leave comments for the student when selecting this option. Students will be able to make edits to the time log entry and resubmit for approval. Entries that have been revised will appear in the reviewer's list with a Resubmitted Entry status label.
- Instructors also have the option to delete time log entries using the three dot menu. This action is permanent and may affect the student's total hours associated with the deleted log.
