Reset a Student Response

A student/respondents response can be removed or reset by the CES Administrator. This action may be necessary if the student accidentally left feedback for the wrong course or instructor, and in situations where the student might wish to make changes or add additional comments after they have already submitted their response. 

 

To reset a response, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Project where the user you would like to edit is located in. 
  2. From the project, click on the Users tab.
  3. Search for the desired user using the fields within the Search table. 
  4. Once you have located the desired user in the Users table, click on the Edit (pencil icon), located to the right of the respective user, to enter Edit User mode.
  5. From Edit User mode find the specific course where you wish to reset the user's response and click the Reset link within the Respondent column for the respective course. 
  6. After clicking on the Reset link, a window will appear and present you with the following two options:

    • Re-open the survey for a student for a specific course, which will make the survey active again for the student/respondent, without deleting their previous submissions. Use this option if the student needs to make minor changes/additions. If the survey is still active for the course, Re-open will be the default option.
    • Reset the survey for a student for a specific course, which will delete their responses for all questions to the course. Use this option if the student needs to re-take the entire survey for that course. If the survey access period has ended for the course, Reset will be the default option.

  7. After making your selection, click the GO button to proceed with the desired action corresponding to the selection that was made. 

 

Once you have reset or reopened the student's response, the student will be able to access the survey again, assuming the survey is still active for that student.  They can access the survey using the links in email communications you have set up or through links in the LMS via the user integration.
