Released: August 6th, 2015
Summary
The primary focus of this release was to introduce our predictive modeling capabilities to our customers. Within Aviso, success staff can view how likely a student will be successful in each course they are registered for in the current term. Further, the reasons that a student may or may not be successful are shown for each course, so intervention strategies can be tailored to the needs of the student. For more information on enabling the predictive modeling features of Aviso for your institution, please contact your Aviso representative.

Aviso Next
- Support for self-service check-in based on a location. This will be used for tutoring sessions, study halls, or other locations that don’t involve one-on-one meetings but rather students sign-in and sign-out on their own.
Miscellaneous
- Fixed an issue where line breaks were not kept when a reply-to email was processed.
- Fixed an issue when creating a message template with an embedded link where it could not be edited after saving.
- Changed the Term tab to display the current term if one exists instead of the newest term. This addresses a case where the current term is Summer but Fall registrations exist and the Term tab was showing the Fall term by default.
- Added campus to data import.
Appendix A: Home Screen
The home screen how includes the ability to filter the news feed by open or closed alerts, or events. Click the “x” to return to the All option, which is the default. Click on your profile picture to access Help and to Send Feedback.
Appendix B: Caseload Screen
The caseload screen displays the results of the predictive model, showing the student’s overall risk level as well as the risk level for each current registration on the Term tab. Note the yellow circles shown below, identifying John as a medium risk student.
Clicking on the yellow success identifier on the Term tab for BUS1150A displays the following success measures. Shown are both the reasons why John is predicted to be successful and why John may struggle in each course he is taking. From this intervention, a success professional will determine how best to intervene with John and the referrals to make to address the core reasons why John is at-risk.
Appendix C: Plans Screen
The Plans screen now displays tags on each student’s record. This provides additional insight into the student when determining whom to create a plan with.
Appendix D: User Settings
User settings are now accessible by clicking on a user’s profile picture, and clicking the “Settings” option. Further, Alert and Event settings can be changed to include only Advisees or to receive alerts and event for both Advisees and Students I Follow.
Appendix E: Course Roster
Faculty often use the Course Roster to identify students who are at risk and refer the student to their Success Team. Tags are now shown on the roster to make it easy to identify particular characteristics about students in their classes.
