Released: March 11th, 2016
Summary
The primary focus of this release was to perform under-the-hood changes to set the foundation for future enhancements and better data integrations with student information systems and learning management systems.
Student Profile
- Added .msg, .odp, .ods, and .odt extension support for document saving via the Documents tab on the student profile.
Messaging
- Changes to formatting of emails sent through the system. Emails are now responsive in that their format will scale from phone to tablet to computer.
- For those institutions utilizing the course based predictive model to generate risk scores for student registrations, you may now send messages from the messaging screen to those risk levels. This includes both the students on your caseload or any student in the institution with a red, yellow, or green risk level.
- Fix for the message screen popup on the student profile screen. When using Internet Explorer, the subject and body were sometimes unable to accept typed input, forcing the popup to be re-opened.
- Blocking of LinkedIn emails in reply-to email functionality.
Settings
- Hide “Other” section of Settings page if Academic Planning is turned off in configuration settings
Alerting
- Modified Current Grade alert and First Assignment Submission alert to ensure the course section has a configured total column. This only applies to Blackboard integrations.
Reporting
- Changed the Online Attendance Report to now be the Attendance for Active Courses report. Added additional filtering criteria including courses, locations, and course delivery type.
Data Integration
- Enhancements to the Aviso Blackboard Building Block to increase performance and consistency.
- When a load of SIS data fails, better subsequent run logic to perform a full load rather than a partial load
Administration
- Each institution may now configure their Aviso system in a way that better matches their design standards. Header color and logos can be changed in the Institution administrative section. Each institution was changed to their primary color palette upon release of 2.6.
Miscellaneous
- Automated deployment support for future Aviso software releases.
- Added foundational components for future tasking feature.
